I truly love the practice of medicine and strive to do my best for my patients. I take a team-based approach and work with my patients to find the best treatment plans and individualize care based on realistic desired goals. My purpose is to help you become a more functional and physically better version of yourself by minimizing pain and discomfort when possible. This is done through epidural, facet, sacroiliac, and joint injections as well as blocks, rhizotomies, and overseeing physical and occupational therapy among others. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my husband and three wild and crazy boys. Back in the day, I was an avid soccer player and enjoy the outdoors. My husband and I are also big foodies. As an interventional spine specialist, I see patients with spine related problems, neck pain with/without associated arm symptoms, and back pain with/without associated leg symptoms. I perform spine related injections and other procedures with or without fluoroscopic guidance. I consider my patients as my teammates, and we work together to tackle the problems they have. My goal is to return them to better functioning and quality of life. I also work closely with excellent spine surgeons in our Spine Center for cases that fail to improve with conservative treatments. I spent five years doing plastic surgery for burn victims, during which time I saw many patients who had very limited function and suffered chronic pain. Physical medicine and rehabilitation attracted me because it focuses on the patient’s functional improvement and quality of life. I specialize in delivering individualized, integrated, and expedited care that helps my patients reach their functional goals. I perform image-guided interventional spine procedures, medical management and acupuncture. While my focus is on providing nonsurgical treatments, I am both fortunate and honored to closely partner with the exceptional spine surgeons at the Duke Spine Center.
