Dr. Kenneth S. Bode
Overview
Dr. Kenneth Bode is a decorated United States Air Force Colonel with additional expertise as an Air Force Flight Surgeon. Among his deployments was a stint in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. After nearly three decades of service to his country, with several decades as a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and fellowship-trained spine surgeon, Dr. Bode began his civilian career early in 2024. He also served as an assistant professor/clinical associate professor in the Department of Surgery at Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Md. from 2013 to 2024.Dr. Bode incorporates a comprehensive, evidence-based approach tailored to each patient with minimally invasive endoscopic and robotic spine surgeries. Additionally, he performs deformity and revision spine surgeries and concurrent arthroscopic sports procedures with spine surgeries. He dedicates his service to providing patients with empathy and the best experience through state-of-the-art cutting-edge techniques/systems with minimized discomfort and downtime. Dr. Bode considers his practice of medicine as a calling to alleviate pain and improve the lives of individuals in his community.Dr. Bode earned his medical degree at the Uniformed Services University. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center in Lackland, Texas, and later his spine surgery fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University/Rothman Institute in Philadelphia, Pa. He also holds a master’s degree as a Certified Physician Executive and a Master of Strategic Studies. Dr. Bode is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.Away from his work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their five biological and two foster-adopted children. Together, they like to travel, compete in sports, spend time outdoors (especially in the water) and try new cuisines.
