Jonathan Cohen is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and fellowships in gastroenterology at UCLA, and advanced endoscopy at The Wellesley Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Cohen was Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU School of Medicine since 2006, joining the full-time faculty as a Professor of Medicine at Northwell/Hofstra in 2024. He has worked as gastroenterologist and performed general and advanced endoscopy at Northwell Vanguard Gastroenterology with expertise in ERCP, colonoscopy, endoscopic resection of large polyps, ablation of tumors and Barrett's esophagus, weight management and endoscopic bariatric therapy. Dr. Cohen is recognized by his colleagues around the world as an expert on quality indicators in gastroenterology, as well as simulator training and advanced imaging technologies in the early diagnosis of GI cancers. A sought after national and international lecturer, Dr. Cohen has also directed over 50 training courses in his fields of expertise to groups of doctors in many countries and throughout North America.
