Dr. Shirvinda A. Wijesekera

David A. Essig, MD is an Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He has clinical interests in spinal deformity surgery, spinal infections, spine trauma, metastatic spinal disease, and degenerative conditions of the adult spine.He received a BA in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics and Economics from Yale University. He earned his medical degree at the University of Toledo School of Medicine in Ohio and subsequently returned to Yale University to train in Orthopaedic Surgery. He received fellowship training in Spine and Scoliosis Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
