In addition, he gained significant experience taking care of patients with cancers affecting the GI tract.Before joining United Gastroenterologists, Dr. Salem practiced at Carepoint Health Medical Group in New Jersey for 3 years. During that time, he established a interventional endoscopy program for the hospital system, helped educate and train fellows in Gastroenterology, led a GI tumor board, and served as Director of the Division of Gastroenterology at Christ Hospital.Dr. Salem's clinical practice encompasses all aspects of Gastroenterology, with additional focus using advanced endoscopic techniques in the diagnosis and management of a broad range of GI disorders.Dr. Salem is board certified in Gastroenterology as well as Internal Medicine. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).Dr. Salem is excited to now call Northridge home and to establish roots within the community, while increasing the range of services offered locally and delivering better health outcomes for the community as a whole.
