Dr. David Weinstein specializes in sports medicine, knee surgery, and shoulder and elbow disorders. He completed fellowship training at Columbia-New York Orthopedic Hospital in New York City in shoulder and elbow reconstruction and an additional fellowship overseas in orthopedic trauma. Dr. Weinstein is a graduate of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he remained to complete his orthopedic surgery residency.As associate clinical professor at the University of Colorado Department of Orthopedic Surgery in Denver, Dr. Weinstein is an avid researcher and passionate educator. He has published numerous papers and given lectures relating to his specialties. Dr. Leland completed fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and Orthopedic Trauma at University Carl Gustav Carus in Dresden, Germany. He subsequently returned to Detroit as Chief of Foot and Ankle Surgery in the Department of Orthopedics at Wayne State University and Chief of Orthopedics at the VA Medical Center where he was twice awarded the Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Leland currently serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado and received the Colonel Alan Bucknell Award for Teacher of the Year in 2020.
