Dr. Groppo subsequently received his medical training at The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then returned to California where he completed his residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. His research has been published in national and international peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at national meetings around the country.Dr. Groppo has served in various leadership positions at Sacramento area hospitals and physician associations.
