He is the past Treasurer and past President of the ATA, and the recipient of the ATA’s Distinguished Service Award, its Paul Starr Award, and the Lewis Braverman Lectureship Award. He is also the recipient of the Distinction in Endocrinology Award given by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, as well as the Endocrine Society’s Outstanding Scholarly Physician Laureate Award and the Outstanding Educator Laureate Award.
