He was named Chief Resident in the final year of his general surgery residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Edmundson received other honors during his time at Baylor as well, including Top ABSITE Score, Raleigh Ross Scholar and the David B. McReynold Servant's Heart Award. He went on to complete his surgical critical care fellowship at The UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also served as a specialist within the Division of Trauma & Emergency Surgery.As a fellowship-trained surgical critical care physician, Dr. Edmundson cares for patients with acute, life-threatening and potentially life-threatening surgical conditions, including tissue injuries due to trauma/wounds, burns, infections, acute inflammation and ischemia. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Society of Critical Care Medicine-Texas Chapter.
