He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania from 1984 to 1987, and then was a Mellon Foundation Scholar in Clinical Epidemiology and a fellow in General Medicine there from 1987 to 1989. He completed a fellowship in occupational and environmental medicine from 1989 to 1990 at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, then joined the faculty there as an Assistant Professor in July 1990. Dr. Schwartz evaluates patients with concerns about the health effects of chemicals from workplace or environmental exposures. He has extensive experience in clinical toxicology, work-relatedness determinations, and other aspects of clinical occupational and environmental medicine.
