Leah Bressler, M.D., M.P.H., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) as well as reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI). She grew up in Clinton, North Carolina and attended UNC Chapel Hill as a Morehead scholar. Dr. Bressler earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School while also completing her Master’s in Public Health. She then completed her residency in OB/GYN at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Cook County Hospitals in Chicago, Illinois. From there, Dr. Bressler completed her REI fellowship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining SGF, Dr. Bressler served as the Medical Director, Director of Third-Party Reproduction, Associate Fellowship Program Director, and Residency Rotation Director at UNC. As an avid researcher, she has first-author publications in the top REI journals such as Human Reproduction, Fertility & Sterility, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Dr. Bressler is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Every patient has a story to tell. Only by listening can we identify the underlying causes of a patient’s symptoms and manage them. Many women deal with their gynecological issues in silence for fear they won’t be taken seriously. This can lead women to stop doing the things they love, deteriorating their quality of life. I specialized in gynecology to help address the issues many women feel they must bear alone. I ran a solo gynecology practice for 15 years in Upstate NY in two underserved communities. I was moved by the dire need for advanced gynecology care in the area, especially surgical care. To meet their needs, I specialized in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including robotics, as well as urogynecology procedures, so patients could receive care for issues like abnormal bleeding, fibroids, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and uterine/vaginal prolapse. Nothing gives me greater satisfaction as a physician than to see my patients be able to enjoy their lives again after successful treatment. In my free time, I enjoy time with family, travel, hiking, trying different cuisines, and appreciating the arts.
