Overview
I take care of people with complicated hypertension (high blood pressure), chronic kidney diseases, and dialysis treatments. My niche is taking care of pregnant women with kidney diseases and hypertension, as well as complicated hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and dialysis in the hospital setting. I also take care of long-term follow-ups for patients who have had a kidney transplant. When I meet with a patient, I inform them about what the options are and help them make a decision. The kidney center here at Duke is nationally well-known, and we see patients from all over, including international patients. I always want my patients to know I am available for them, either through MyChart or if they call the office and ask a question; they'll usually get an answer within 24 hours.
