After I retired from my sport, I wasn’t sure what to do with my life and got a job at a YWCA, where I had to be certified in CPR. That led me to meeting some EMS personnel, who inspired me to volunteer for Cetronia’s ambulance corps. The amazing work they do in saving people’s lives, I knew that was for me. That blossomed into a career in medicine. | Community involvement | I donate regularly to Goodwill and to American Family Services. I used to be very active working at soup kitchens, but due to scheduling conflicts, I haven't been able to participate over the last few years. I do plan to volunteer again at soup kitchens. | Personal interests | I’m trying to get back to the gym. I see Apollo Ohno skating on TV and think maybe ... then I remember my knees are so shot from all the crazy stuff I did in my speedskating days. I’d just like to get into running or something else regularly again. I also love being with family and friends, and I love the Lehighton area, all the winding roads and beautiful country here.
