She attended The Ohio State University College of Medicine and then completed residencies in pediatrics and dermatology at the University of Colorado. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University. She has also spent time as a Pediatrician in Lesotho working with Pediatric HIV patients, received a resident international grant to practice dermatology in Botswana, and observed dermatology clinics in Guatemala as well.
