
Overview
Khyzer Aziz is a neonatologist at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore, Maryland, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of premature babies or newborns with high-risk or complex health conditions. Dr. Aziz is also an assistant professor of pediatrics and general internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He began his academic journey at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Later, he received training at the Jacobi Medical Center in New York, and completed a fellowship in pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, before officially joining the faculty in 2020. Dr. Aziz is a designated researcher for the Johns Hopkins AI-X Foundry, an organization that provides the framework and support infrastructure for artificial intelligence and data science efforts across the Johns Hopkins institutions. Along with his expertise in machine learning, data science and ethics, he is a member of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Artificial Intelligence Task Force. As the CMIO for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, Dr. Aziz focuses on using emerging technologies, such as generative AI, in health care to help transform how high-quality, cutting-edge care is delivered to patients and their families in today’s increasingly digital world.
