Dr. Donald L. Preate

John Danella, MD, is a urologist and director of the Department of Urology for the Geisinger Surgery Institute. Dr. Danella obtained his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center and his fellowship in urological oncology at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Danella is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Urological Association and the Society of Academic Urologists. Under the direction of Dr. Danella, Geisinger Urology participates in the Pennsylvania Urologic Regional Collaborative, a consortium of academic urologic practices across the state which is committed to advancing the care of prostate cancer patients. Dr. Danella’s clinical interests include the management of all urologic malignancies, including prostate, bladder, kidney and testis cancers. He is very experienced at robotic surgical approaches to these conditions, when appropriate. Dr. Danella believes that urologic cancers are ideally managed by a multidisciplinary approach, and collaborates closely with colleagues in medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and diagnostic radiology to offer the optimal therapeutic approach to individual patients. Jerald Gilbert, MD is a board-certified urologist who provides care for men and women. He specializes in treating urologic conditions that include prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, kidney stones, bladder cancer and kidney cancer. He performs a variety of routine and advanced surgical procedures including ureteroscopy, laser lithotripsy, vasectomy and the Rezum procedure for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.|Dr. Gilbert has a clinical interest in robotic surgery and the management of urologic cancer.|Board certified in urology, Dr. Gilbert earned his medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He completed his residency in urology at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center in Philadelphia. Ira Kohn, MD, is a board certified urologist who provides care for men and women. He specializes in treating urologic conditions that include benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stones, erectile dysfunction including Peyronie’s disease, urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, kidney cancer, prostate cancer and bladder cancer. He also performs routine and advanced surgical procedures including laparoscopic surgery, laser surgery, REZUM and minimally invasive BPH treatments, vasectomy, circumcision, hydrocele repair, sacral neuromodulation (Interstim) and BOTOX® bladder injections.|Dr. Kohn attended the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He completed his residency at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and a fellowship in neuro and reconstructive urology at Columbia New York-Presbyterian Hospital.|Dr. Kohn believes in a comprehensive, holistic approach to treating patients and their urologic conditions, in addition to managing their disease processes.
