Overview
I am a nurse practitioner who is specialized in cardiovascular medicine. I chose to specialize in this field because I know what it is like to be the family member of a heart patient. I am fulfilled by partnering with my patients to help them fully understand and successfully manage their disease, and I enjoy the challenge of diagnosis. In addition to providing direct patient care, I mentor novice nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and teach in the Duke University School of Nursing. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, rescuing hound dogs, kayaking, woodworking and restoring old houses.
