Dr. Andrea Schwoerer

"Andrea Schwoerer is a board certified general surgeon who specializes in bariatrics and minimally invasive surgery. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and completed her residency at Cleveland Clinic - Akron General. Dr. Schwoerer completed a fellowship in bariatric surgery at Carolinas Medical Center and has previously worked as a bariatric surgeon at Blossom Medical Group in Nevada. A native of the Midwest, Dr. Schwoerer is happy to join the team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital and see patients in the area she calls home. She is a compassionate physician and feels it is important for women to be represented in the medical community, especially in areas such as surgery. Dr. Schwoerer is committed to providing exceptional, state-of-the-art treatment by staying current in her field and seeking opportunities to continuously improve her surgical techniques. She is a Fellow with the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Association of Women Surgeons. She also speaks fluent English and Ukrainian. Her clinical expertise encompasses Obesity, Obesity in Children, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Sleeve Gastrectomy, and Gastrectomy.

Dr. Schwoerer is board certified in American Board Of Surgery , Drug Enforcement Administration , Missouri Dept Of Health/Narcotics&Dangerous Drugs , and Missouri State Board Of Registration. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 2 peer reviewed articles.
