Overview
Dr. Andrew Khoury earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Houston and his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He completed an internship in general surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and a residency in anesthesiology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. His fellowship in multidisciplinary pain medicine at the University of Florida in Gainesville focused on advanced interventional and minimally invasive techniques to treat complex pain conditions. In practice since 2014, Dr. Khoury is board certified in anesthesiology. His primary clinical interests include opioid management, epidural steroid injections, joint injections, nerve blocks, sympatholysis, spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, kyphoplasty/vertebral augmentation, minimally invasive spinal surgery, sacroiliac joint fusion and intrathecal pump therapy. He treats patients of all ages. Dr. Khoury bases his practice on the philosophy that “without compassion, medicine is merely science.” He works with patients to manage conditions including headaches, spinal disorders, joint pain and muscle pain. He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia, Texas Society of Anesthesiologists and Texas Medical Association. He is director of the pain fellowship program at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.
