Dr. Arul S. Thirumoorthi

Arul S. Thirumoorthi, MD FACS PE is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Section of Pediatric Surgery. He is the Director of the Multi-disciplinary Pediatric Endocrine Surgery and Trauma Programs. He received his medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery Internship and Residency at New York University. He completed an ECMO and research fellowship at Columbia University. Dr. Thirumoorthi completed his Pediatric Surgical Fellowship at Loma Linda University and complete his Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Michigan. Dr. Thirumoorthi is triple board certified in General Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, and Critical Care.Clinical Specialization:Dr. Thirumoorthi’s surgical practice encompasses all areas of general pediatric surgery and pediatric diseases of the neck, chest, and abdomen. His clinical areas of specific interest are pediatric endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal) and surgical oncology. Dr. Thirumoorthi also is also interested in pediatric trauma, critical care and ECMO.
