Dr. George B. Mychaliska

Dr. Ehrlich earned his medical degree from University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine and completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto. In addition, he completed a Master of Science in Molecular Pathology from the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC. After completing his fellowship Dr Ehrlich spent 5 years at West Virginia University Children’s Hospital as the director of pediatric surgery. He came to Ann Arbor in 2003 and is currently a Professor of Surgery in pediatric general surgery. Dr. Ehrlich serves as the Director of the Pediatric Trauma and is a member of the Solid Tumor Oncology Program at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan.Clinical Specialization:Dr. Ehrlich is extremely active in the Children’s Oncology Group serving as a surgical principal investigator on the renal tumor committee as well as the scientific council. He is world renowned for his work with Wilms Tumor. Dr. Ehrlich is board certified in Pediatric Surgery and General Surgery and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine and then completed her general surgery residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. During her general surgery training, she completed an NIH-sponsored Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Pediatric Surgery at UNC. Dr. Speck completed her Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and then joined the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Due to her interest in clinical outcomes research, she obtained her master’s degree in clinical research design and Statistical Analysis from the University of Michigan in 2017.Dr. Speck is a Fellow in the American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA) and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). She is a member of the Association of Women Surgeons (AWS), the Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), the International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG), and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). At the University of Michigan, she is a member of the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation.Clinical Specialization:Dr. Speck’s surgical practice encompasses all areas of general and thoracic pediatric surgery with a focus on minimally invasive surgery. As the Director of Pediatric Colorectal Surgery, she has a particular interest in colorectal diseases, including anorectal malformations, Hirschsprung disease, and differences of sex differentiation (DSD). He completed a Masters in Health and Health Care Research at the Institute for Health Policy and Innovation, in the North Campus Research Center.At University of Michigan, Dr. Gadepalli completed fellowships in both Surgical Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery and is board certified in General Surgery, Critical Care and Pediatric Surgery. He is the Daniel H. Teitelbaum, MD Collegiate Professor in the Department of Surgery. His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of pediatric surgery, including minimally invasive surgery, non-cardiac thoracic surgery, neonatal surgery, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, surgical oncology, abdominal, colorectal and genitourinary abnormalities, trauma and critical care. His unique background allows expertise in the critical care needs of the surgical neonatal and pediatric populations, including the use of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in children.On a personal note, he has 4 children, from elementary to high school, who keep him well grounded and up-to-date on all the newest trends. As a 90s kid, he enjoys hip hop music and dancing with his daughters and his son, who is working on becoming an Eagle Scout.
