Overview
Board-certified in adult gerontology advanced practice nursing, she joined AtlantiCare Physician Group Neurology as a nurse practitioner in August 2019. Since her early days as a hospital RN, she has looked for opportunities to increase her knowledge and skill. “The more you know, the better the outcome,” she says, explaining her passion for education. “I recommend pursuing higher education for all nurses, it’s the best thing to do both for yourself and your patients. It makes healthcare better for everybody,” she says. She earned her bachelor’s in nursing from Columbia University School of Nursing, New York and her master’s in nursing at Stockton University, Galloway, N.J. She also has advanced training in prescribing controlled dangerous substances and in nursing leadership. She is fluent in Russian. Bella is dedicated training other nurses and has served as an adjunct professor in Stockton’s nursing program. “Teaching is a true blessing. Nursing practice is critical to both treatment and recovery and helping other nurse professionals increase their knowledge and skill is a true privilege,” she says. Bella has nearly 15 years’ experience, including two years in advance practice. She has worked in a variety of settings including telemetry, sleep and pulmonary care and in her current interest, neurology. Bella believes managing neurological problems has an enormous impact on quality of life. And she enjoys the challenge. “Neurology is fascinating. It’s a challenging specialty, but what could be more important than understanding cognitive function and managing neurological symptoms and problems?” she says. Her work requires exacting skill and leaving nothing to chance, qualities she recognizes in her new AtlantiCare colleagues. “I am impressed with AtlantiCare’s attention to detail. Even though it’s a large organization, no task is too small. It’s dedicated to professional education and development and made up of people who truly care about patients and families. I’m beyond happy to be part of it. ” she said.
