Dr. Benjamin Raby is the director of the Pulmonary Genetics Center and a physician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). He is also an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School.He received his medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine, and then completed a residency in internal medicine at Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital. He then undertook fellowship programs in pulmonary disease at McGill University Health Centre, Montreal Genome Centre at McGill University (now the McGill University and Genome Quebec Innovation Centre) and BWH. He is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary disease.Dr. Raby’s research focuses on identifying the genetic basis of lung diseases using genome-wide integrative approaches in human populations. He has worked on multiple asthma studies funded by the National Institutes of Health, including a study of structural genetic variation in childhood asthma and another that leveraged clinical, genomic and environmental data to investigate the molecular determinants of suboptimal asthma control. He is the author of more than 140 peer-reviewed publications, is a founding member of the EVE Asthma Consortium, and serves on the editorial boards of several allergy, asthma and genetics subspecialty journals.
