He completed his residency at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and a fellowship in Faculty Development at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport. He served in the United States Air Force from 1997-2001 as a family physician. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
