Overview

Born in Texas, Dr. Brennan Roper grew up in Colorado but returned to his home state to earn a B.S. in Exercise Science from The University of Texas at Austin. He earned his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School and a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Roper specializes in pediatric and adolescent orthopedics. He focuses on the acute and long-term care of congenital anomalies, congenital deformities, limb length discrepancies and trauma. He treats patients from birth to young adulthood. When developing individualized treatment plans, he makes special considerations for a patient’s age, condition and goals. As assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School who sees patients at UT Physicians and Memorial Hermann, Dr. Roper is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA). He is actively involved in research and quality improvement projects to help advance the field of orthopedic and pediatric orthopedic surgery. Away from his practice, Dr. Roper enjoys time with his family, good food, the outdoors and cheering for the Texas Longhorns.

Dr. Eric Klineberg received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and then a master’s degree in zoology and neural networks at the University of Maryland, before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. A professor and vice chair in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Klineberg serves as Chief of Orthopedic Spine Surgery and holds the Milton “Chip” Routt Endowed Chair of Spinal Surgery. His research, teaching and clinical activity have earned Dr. Klineberg an international reputation in spinal deformity surgery. Author of over then 300 publications and book chapters, he also edited Adult Lumbar Scoliosis, A Clinical Guide to Diagnosis and Management and is a principal or co-principal investigator for more than a half-dozen clinical studies. His major research interests are enhancement of spinal fusion with stem cells and proteins and spinal deformity and outcomes. He serves on the board of directors of the Scoliosis Research Society and on the executive committee of the International Spine Study Group. He is also the North American Chair of AO Spine, a global academic community that promotes excellence in education, research, patient care and outcomes.
