Dr. Claudia Twum

I have always known that I wanted to help people. I didn't discover how I wanted to help people till my late teenage years when I began to notice the disparities in health care that existed in my home country of Ghana, especially for women. Women's health came naturally to me. From personal experience, family stories, community encounters, I knew that I wanted to make an impact in the life of every woman I encountered. For my interest and abilities, medicine afforded me that opportunity. Medicine has been a difficult journey but the encounters I have made it all worth it. What I want my patients to know about me:I was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. Official language is English. My mother tongue is Twi. I have been in the USA since 2001. I am family oriented and have a passion for global health and mission work. I love dancing. I think Zumba and Bang are the greatest workouts ever created (I get to dance). I love a good fictional novel. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I spend a lot of my free time doing missions work and church activities. I am a member of GTOC in Maryland, a non denominational church. I spend my time with youth development, choir ministry and many others. Since leaving my home country of Ghana and becoming an Ob/Gyn, I devote an amount of time each year to returning to Ghana to perform mission work. I spend about a week each year providing medical care to the less fortunate and health education seminars to help decrease some of the gaps in health care.

Her clinical expertise encompasses Vitiligo, Female Genital Sores, Vulvovaginitis, and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease.

Dr. Twum is board certified in American Board Of Obstetrics And Gynecology, Obstetrics And Gynecology - 2021. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 3 peer reviewed articles. Dr. Twum is currently accepting new patients.
