Overview
Dr. Beck is a board certified general adult psychiatrist. He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in finance and microbiology from the University of Florida. He received his medical degree from the University of South Florida. He completed his psychiatric residency at Emory University. He is a recognized Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.Dr. Beck has extensive experience helping people with both primary psychiatric illness and dual diagnosis. He treats outpatients in his office in Decatur. He has expertise in helping people with severe mood and psychotic disorders. He received training at Duke University in the use of electroconvulsive therapy for severe, treatment resistant mood disorders.Dr. Beck is also board certified in forensic psychiatry. He completed his fellowship at Emory University where he was also an adjunct assistant professor. He worked as an evaluator for the state of Georgia for five years. He has qualified as an expert witness in superior courts throughout the Metro Atlanta Area.
His clinical expertise encompasses Major Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Bipolar Disorder (BPD), and Schizoaffective Disorder.
