
Overview
Cory Collinge, M.D., served his country for more than five years as a staff physician in the United States Army Reserve during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom while also serving as an orthopedic trauma surgeon in private practice in the Fort Worth area. From 1999 to 2015, he headed up the Orthopedic Trauma Department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.In 2015, Dr. Collinge left North Texas to take on a number of leadership roles within Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., including clinical chief for the Orthopedic Trauma Division, fellowship director of Orthopedic Trauma and professor of orthopedic surgery. He returned to private practice in Fort Worth in 2017.Dr. Collinge earned his master’s degree in anatomy and neurobiology from The University of Louisville School of Medicine in Kentucky before graduating Cum Laude with his medical degree from the same institution. He completed a general surgery internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Northwestern University School of Medicine in Chicago, Ill. Dr. Collinge is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship-trained in orthopedic trauma and post-traumatic reconstruction from Tampa General Hospital/Florida Orthopaedic Institute. He specializes in minimally invasive orthopedic trauma surgical techniques, the treatment of complex fractures in youths and adults, and advanced bone reconstruction procedures.Dr. Collinge has co-authored a book on improving fracture care through science and he has contributed to numerous book chapters on topics ranging from operative techniques in trauma surgery to fracture care for the ankle, neck and knee. He is also an avid presenter and teacher on topics in orthopedic surgery.
