His fellowship training in craniomaxillofacial surgery was at Seattle Children's Hospital. He is one of the few craniomaxillofacial surgeons in the United States board certified in Plastic Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Dr. Susarla has a robust research portfolio, with over 300 publications. He is on the editorial boards for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
