Dr. Dan A. Silaghi

Dan Alexandru Silaghi, M.D., is a board-certified neurologist specializing in neuro-critical care, vascular neurology, stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain bleeding and neuro-immunology. Dr. Silaghi appreciates the complexity of neurology and strives to treat all patients as if they are his own family. Dr. Silaghi earned his medical degree from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. He completed a residency and fellowship in neurology with the University of Manitoba/Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. He subsequently completed a fellowship in neurocritical care at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He then spent time working as a neuro-critical care physician in Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Silaghi is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is also board certified by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialties (UCNS) in Neuro-Critical Care. He is dedicated to advancing the field of neurology and sharing his experience through research. Dr. Silaghi chose neurology as he felt it was the most complex specialty and required both broad knowledge and a systemic approach to care. Dr. Silaghi enjoys the outdoors, working out and spending time with his family and pets. Originally from Romania, he immigrated to Canada as a teen and came to the U.S. to continue his medical education. His favorite part of our coastal Virginia community is the wide array of opportunities to be in nature.

His clinical expertise encompasses Subarachnoid Hemorrhage, Stroke, Apoplexy, and Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis.

Dr. Silaghi is board certified in American Board Of Psychiatry & Neurology - Neurocritical Care, American Board Of Psychiatry & Neurology - Neurology, and Royal College Of Physicians & Surgeons Canada. He is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 1 peer reviewed article.
