Larson Endowed Chair in Pediatric Craniofacial Surgery, and the Surgical Director of the Craniofacial Center at Seattle Children's Hospital. He is a Professor of Surgery (Plastic) and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Washington.Dr. Susarla is an internationally-recognized expert in pediatric and adult craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery. His clinical practice includes management of congenital craniofacial differences such as cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis, and craniofacial syndromes as well as secondary craniomaxillofacial reconstruction.Dr. Susarla completed his medical degree (MD) at Harvard Medical School and his dental degree (DMD) at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He completed residency training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and Plastic Surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. His fellowship training in craniomaxillofacial surgery was at Seattle Children's Hospital. He is one of the few craniomaxillofacial surgeons in the United States board certified in Plastic Surgery and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.Dr. Susarla has a robust research portfolio, with over 300 publications. He is on the editorial boards for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has given over 100 invited talks nationally and internationally on craniomaxillofacial reconstructive surgery. Dr. Susarla is highly rated in 15 conditions, according to our data.
