Drew Cornwell, OD, is an interventional pain specialist and anesthesiologist with a passion for helping patients manage and overcome painful musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. With specialized training in non-surgical management techniques, he diagnoses and treats conditions such as arthritis, spinal stenosis, myofascial pain and degenerative disc disease.|Dr. Cornwell performs precise, image-guided injections to target pain at its source, focusing on areas such as the neck, spine, peripheral joints and nerves. His ultimate goal is to accurately diagnose and provide relief for chronically painful conditions. Additionally, he has extensive experience in spinal cord stimulation trials and peripheral nerve stimulation.|During his training, Dr. Cornwell served as chief resident for the Geisinger Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management. Today, he holds an appointment as assistant professor of anesthesiology at Geisinger College of Health Sciences.|Fluent in both English and Italian, Dr. Cornwell is board certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his anesthesiology residency at Geisinger Medical Center, followed by an interventional and chronic pain management fellowship at Cleveland Medical Center.
