I enjoy working in the health care industry, and I realized early in life that this is one of my passions. What I didn't realize is that one of my favorite aspects of my job would be getting to know people from all walks of life that I might not normally meet. I’m continually amazed by the interesting, non-medical things I learn about people's lives. Therefore, I strive to learn at least one thing about my patients that isn't medically related. This helps to give me a better understanding of the whole person – rather than just a medical diagnosis.
