Dr. Daumit’s research is devoted to improving overall health and decreasing premature mortality for people with serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Her work has been recognized with several honors. In 2013, she received the Society of General Internal Medicine’s Best Published Research Paper of the Year Award for “The Randomized Trial of Achieving Healthy Lifestyles in Psychiatric Rehabilitation.” In 2014, the same research paper won the 2014 Trial of the Year Award from the Society for Clinical Trials. She is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine.
