Overview
I enjoy working in the infectious disease specialty because it is a challenging field that is constantly changing. I have to be informed about infections happening close to home and around the world. I enjoy getting to know my patients, and I especially enjoy seeing them get back to the things they love to do after successful treatment. I have spent time working in Africa and South America, learning from the people there and studying infections from those areas. I hope to be able to continue to help those who are underserved medically. When I am not at work, I can be found coaching sports for my children or helping out at our church. I am a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), and like the other physicians in our infectious disease group, I follow the IDSA guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of Lyme disease. I also provide culturally-sensitive care to diverse communities, including GLBT individuals, refugees and immigrants.
