Dr. Whitman, President and Chief Surgeon of the Key-Whitman Eye Center in Dallas, TX, has practiced there since 1985. He specializes in cataract and refractive surgery, and to date, he has performed more than 100,000 lens implant and laser refractive surgeries.Dr. Whitman was involved in the original FDA trials for Toric Lasik treatment and is currently involved in clinical trials for corneal inlays and premiums lenses combined with femtosecond laser treatments.As an involved ophthalmologist, he has been Past President of the American College of Eye Surgeons and the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology. He is currently a Clinical Correspondent for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, is a certified ophthalmic coder and is a regular contributor to numerous ophthalmic publications.Dr. Whitman also serves on the board of the American College of Eye Surgeons and the Society for Excellence in Eye Care, and he is outgoing president of OOSS (Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgery Society).In addition, he has presented his clinical research findings at numerous national and international medical meetings and continues to be actively involved in current clinical and FDA research.Dr. Whitman has received the Secretariat Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Whitman is also personally involved in medical mission work overseas and devotedly supports numerous charitable causes.
