She then completed a 4-year Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Kaiser Santa Clara in Santa Clara, CA, which was followed by a 3-year fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (also known as Urogynecology) at the University of California Irvine in Orange, CA. She specializes in the treatment of of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and has expertise including botulinum toxin (BotoxTM) injections and sacral neuromodulation (InterstimTM, AxonicsTM) for overactive bladder and fecal incontinence, as well as minimally-invasive surgical techniques including vaginal and robotic (Da Vinci) for the treatment of pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.Dr. Buono is passionate about providing compassionate and thoughtful care that is tailored to each patient's individual needs. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, hiking with their dog, exploring new restaurants, and spinning.I am privileged to have the opportunity to care for women regarding their sensitive health topics including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence. My goal is to create a safe space for patients to comfortably discuss these conditions and provide individualized medical counseling so that we can develop a treatment plan as a team. I strive to provide my patients with the quality of medical care that I would want for my own family members.
