Overview

I have always been fascinated by biology, particularly the human body and the way the hundreds of parts of each cell, then hundreds of cells in each tissue, the many tissues in each organ, and then all the organs work together to make a living, thinking being. As fascinated as I was, I found I was happiest doing things that truly helped others around me. Medicine seemed the perfect way to join my academic fascination with this desire and make it into a career. What I want my patients to know about me:That a visit to me is more about fun and less about being scary. My goal is to get a smile to make up for all the boring talking I did with their parents. As they get older, I want to know how they feel about what's going on with them- good or bad- and what their opinion is on what we should do to help them take control of their health. For their parents, I want them to know that I think every child is deserving of my best effort. When dealing with very complexissues of the brain and nervous system, it is all about time. I take my time getting the full story, I take my time understanding all the issues, problems and concerns in the visit and put a lot of time into solving their puzzle, researching if necessary, and figuring out how best to meet their needs. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:My wife and I love to travel and explore new places, whether near or far. We also love to explore those sights and places right around us that tend to be forgotten as people get caught up in everyday life. We enjoy local festivals and farmer's markets. We love hiking and have a passion for national parks. We are always on the hunt for great new restaurants. We enjoy plays and musicals, and especially watching my spectacularly talented children, who have a passion for the performing arts.
