Overview
I care for patients with a variety of orthopaedic conditions, primarily focusing on the spine and neck. I encourage patients to be active partners in their recovery. Together, we discuss all available treatment options and work to formulate a treatment plan that is best for each individual, helping them get back to the activities they love. Prior to becoming a physician assistant, I was a certified athletic trainer. I worked with the U.S. Luge Association and USA Bobsled and Skeleton, providing sports medicine services to development and Olympic level athletes. I continue to be involved with USA Bobsled and Skeleton as a volunteer medical provider. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter and exploring all that the Triangle has to offer.

I grew up in Durham and I am extremely proud to work here at Duke. All of my family members still call the Bull City home. Most of my education was completed in Durham, except for four years I spent down the road in Chapel Hill. I played football there and developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery that led me home. I specialize in hip and knee replacement and am very fortunate to do so. We have the ability to help so many people with these operations. It is extremely rewarding to help someone get back to doing the things they want to do with their life. Duke is the kind of place where you are challenged by the most difficult cases weekly and I appreciate that fact.
