My goal is to give my patients the same attentive 'whole person' care I want for myself and my family. It can be very challenging to balance wellness needs with the many demands of our busy lives. I enjoy partnering with my patients to come up with common-sense approaches focused on what is important to them, whether that is finding ways to maximize their well being or to address acute and ongoing health concerns. I believe every person deserves respectful and genuinely caring health care throughout their lifespan. I have a passionate interest in the ethics of health care, especially matters of equal access to care and cultural inclusivity. I continually look for ways that individuals and communities can make it easier for people to maintain or improve their health. I am a masters marathon runner (which doesn't imply mastery, only that I am older than 40) and often combine travel to international races with exploration of the hospitals, clinics, and practices that people use in other cultures to keep themselves healthy or treat illness.I am an avid reader and organic gardener, enjoy yoga and cross-country skiing, and according to my two sons, display such enthusiasm and utter lack of ability at bowling that it inspires others.
