A native Houstonian, Dr. Lawrence Baum graduated from Bellaire High School and attended undergraduate school at San Diego State University and The University of Texas at Austin. He earned a master’s degree fromThe University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) and his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He completed a general surgery internship and urology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. In practice since 2003, Dr. Baum is board certified in urology. He practices general urology, with primary clinical interests in laparoscopic surgery, robotic-assisted surgery, enlarged prostate, erectile dysfunction, female stress incontinence, overactive bladder, kidney stone management and no-scalpel vasectomy. He speaks Spanish. While Dr. Baum utilizes advanced technology and equipment to treat all urologic problems, he believes the doctor-patient relationship is important in fostering healing and good outcomes. Dr. Baum is married and the father of two children. The family enjoys outdoor activities, particularly running, swimming and biking. His other favorite leisure activities are woodworking, fresh and saltwater fly fishing, scuba diving and surfing.
