Dr. Lindsay Crawford joined the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth as an Assistant Professor in 2013. She is board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Crawford attended Texas A&M University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Microbiology. She then attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX on a merit scholarship. At Baylor, she began to develop her interest in Pediatric Orthopedics spending time doing research at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Houston. She attended Orthopedic residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX that included a research rotation at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. She then trained at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, FL for her Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship. She has presented her research in scoliosis and clubfoot at multiple national orthopedic meetings. Dr. Crawford has focused her practice on scoliosis/spine conditions, limb deformity and trauma. Since joining Children’s Memorial Hermann, Dr. Crawford has received multiple honors including Houstonia Top Doctor, H Texas Top Doctor, Texas Monthly Super Doctor Rising Star, as well as the Dean’s teaching awards for her role in training McGovern medical students and residents. Dr. Eric Klineberg received his undergraduate degree from Rice University and then a master’s degree in zoology and neural networks at the University of Maryland, before earning his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Washington Medical System in Seattle then a combined neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical spine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Dr. Klineberg is board certified in orthopedic surgery. His primary clinical interests include spinal degeneration, deformity, tumor and fracture; adult and pediatric spinal deformity surgery; and cervical compression and deformity. Dr. Klineberg is committed to excellence in surgical care with an emphasis on communication, compassion and empathy. He strives to treat each patient as he would like himself or a family member to be treated. A professor and vice chair in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Dr. Klineberg serves as Chief of Orthopedic Spine Surgery and holds the Milton “Chip” Routt Endowed Chair of Spinal Surgery. His research, teaching and clinical activity have earned Dr. Klineberg an international reputation in spinal deformity surgery. Author of over then 300 publications and book chapters, he also edited Adult Lumbar Scoliosis, A Clinical Guide to Diagnosis and Management and is a principal or co-principal investigator for more than a half-dozen clinical studies. His major research interests are enhancement of spinal fusion with stem cells and proteins and spinal deformity and outcomes. He serves on the board of directors of the Scoliosis Research Society and on the executive committee of the International Spine Study Group. He is also the North American Chair of AO Spine, a global academic community that promotes excellence in education, research, patient care and outcomes.
