Overview

Dr. Luis Fernandez is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Child Neurology. He completed is medical training the in the Dominican Republic (Pontificia Universidad Catholica Madre y Maestra) and did a post-doctoral research fellowship in the adult neuro-ICU of Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. He completed his pediatric residency, child neurology residency and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at Childrenís Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and joined the child neurology faculty in 2016. His research interests include electroencephalographic predictors in critical ill children and critical care neurology. As a specialist in Child Neurology, Division of Epilepsy, he provides clinical care for inpatients and outpatients in the Division of Child Neurology.

His clinical expertise encompasses Epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome (LGS), Seizures, and Deep Brain Stimulation.
