Dr. Ferrara earned his medical degree at the Florida State University College of Medicine in Tallahassee. He completed his general surgery residency at Brookwood Baptist Health program in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Ferrara also served as academic chief resident in his final year. He performed his fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans. About Dr. Ferrara He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and by the American College of Surgery. Dr. Ferrara’s worked has appeared in peer-reviewed medical publications, and he has authored book chapters on topics pertaining to colon and rectal surgery. He also serves as a reviewer for Diseases of the Colon & Rectum, considered the world's leading publication in colorectal surgery. He is an expert reviewer for C-SATS, an international program aimed at enhancing surgical techniques through video review and education. Dr. Ferrara also is a clinical assistant professor of surgery at both the FSU College of Medicine – Orlando campus and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, also in Orlando. Outside of work, Dr. Ferrara enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He likes to play the drums and guitar, attend concerts, exercise, travel and cook.
