Dr. Marco A. Vargas, graduated from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, Florida, in 1997. He holds three Board certifications:
- Foot surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons
- Foot surgery by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry
- Primary podiatric medicine by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry
He is also a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine. He is the founder of Vargas Foot Specialists of Sugar Land and Houston, TX, and a current member of the Plex Sports Medicine team.
Dr. Vargas is from Colombia and grew up in South America. He played football in college. His hobbies include cooking, traveling, and spending time with his kids. Dr. Vargas serves area communities as a foot care specialist at Vargas Foot Specialists in Sugar Land, TX. He is one of only two Houston area podiatrists with special training and certification to perform an exciting, minimally invasive flat foot implant procedure using HyProCure®.

Dr. James Jacobs earned his undergraduate degree in biology from State University of New York School of Arts and Sciences (SUNY Potsdam) and his podiatric medical degree from Temple College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical residency at Doctors Hospital (now United Memorial Medical Center) in Houston. In practice since 1989, Dr. Jacobs is board certified in podiatric surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle disorders resulting from disease or injury. He also treats bunions, neuroma, plantar fasciitis, athlete’s foot, foot pain, calluses and hammer toes. Dr. Jacobs is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and the Harris County Podiatric Medical Society, of which he is a past president. With his philosophy of comprehensive foot care combined with state-of-the-art technology, he strives to create an unsurpassed standard of excellence in patient care. Dr. Jacobs is an active member of the Greater Katy Area Chamber of Commerce and the Katy Rotary Club and has held leadership positions in both organizations. He also serves as coordinator of the Katy Triathlon and volunteers for the Houston Tenneco Marathon, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and Houston Health Care for the Homeless.
