Dr. Michelina Cairo

Dr. Michelina Cairo earned her undergraduate degree from Yale University and her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in oncology and hematology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She also trained in breast cancer and sarcoma at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Cairo is board certified in oncology and hematology. Her primary clinical interests are breast cancer, breast cancer research and clinical trials. In practice since 2005, she treats patients ages 18 and older. She speaks medical Spanish and provides interpretation by a language line interpreter. Her patient-centered practice style is characterized by taking time to inform and educate patients about options, ensuring that shared decisions are based on up-to-date facts and data.
