Dr. Wade Shrader is a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, division chief of the Nemours Cerebral Palsy Center, and is on the board of directors, American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. He’s also been an invited lecturer, active researcher, and a reviewer, editor and contributor of medical journals and book chapters. I think children represent the center of hope in our families. I became a pediatric doctor to help nurture that hope in each family so that each child we care for can reach their absolute best potential. I love the engineering aspects of orthopedics. Doing orthopedics in children just seemed like the perfect fit for me. After my two sons were diagnosed with their cerebral palsy (CP), the first time I took care of a family of a child with CP, I knew that this was my purpose in life: to try to help families like mine. I am passionate about being an advocate for improved health care and improved access to society for children and adults with disabilities. I truly try to treat each child and each family how I want my children and my family treated. As a special needs parent myself, I like to let my patients’ families know that, so that I can help in some small way by saying “I know what you’re going through, and I’m going to do everything in my power to help you.”. Dr. Shrader is highly rated in 25 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Cerebral Palsy, Spastic Diplegia Infantile Type, Scoliosis, Tenotomy, and Spinal Fusion. Dr. Shrader is board certified in American Board Of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Shrader is currently accepting new patients.
Nemours DuPont Hospital For Children
In addition to my work as a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, the Shands/MacEwen Endowed Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware, and division chief of the Nemours Spine and Scoliosis Center, I help educate the next generation of orthopedic physicians. I am the Clinical Fellowship Director Emeritus for the orthopedics department at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware. I train residents, fellows and visiting observers in advanced spinal deformity techniques. I’m a professor of orthopedic surgery and pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, and frequently teach and lecture at national and international courses, educational symposia, conferences and other institutions. I am vice president of the Scoliosis Research Society, president of Setting Scoliosis Straight Foundation, a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and a member of the Medical and Scientific Board of the National Spine Health Foundation. In addition, I have authored more than 200 research articles and 30 book chapters, and serve as a reviewer of four journals. Children are amazing. They just want to get better so they can get back to being kids. I enjoy giving each patient and family the personalized and customized attention they need, and making sure their questions are answered. There’s no template for this kind of care. I’m proud to be at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Delaware. We handle the most complex cases and teach the techniques other people come here to learn to do.
