His practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of shoulder conditions, including shoulder arthritis and replacement, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and sports-related injuries. Dr. Quinlan's interest in orthopedic surgery began after he suffered a sports related knee injury in high school. Experiencing an orthopedic injury and recovery firsthand gave him an appreciation for how an injury can affect a person's ability to participate in the activities they enjoy. He also completed an orthopedic research year at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters, including research focused on rotator cuff disease and shoulder replacement. He takes time to listen, explain the diagnosis and treatment options clearly, and help patients understand when surgery may—or may not—be the best choice. His goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care while helping patients return to the activities that are important to them.
