He then completed further elective training at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he focused on malignancies of the breast, gastrointestinal (GI) tract and lung. Additionally, Dr. Berilgen trained in pediatric radiation oncology at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Throughout his specialized training, he completed extensive training in 3D conformal radiation therapy, CT/MRI/PET-based simulation, HDR brachytherapy (mammosite, prostate and GYN), IMRT (H&N, Lung, GI and Prostate), and respiratory gating. Board certified in radiation oncology by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Berilgen specializes in the Calypso GPR Tracking System, image guide radiotherapy (IGRT), intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), RapidArc radiotherapy, stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), stereotactic radiotherapy (SRS) and volumetric arc therapy (VMAT). He previously served as the Medical Director and Comprehensive Cancer Center Director for Sadler Clinic, and now serves as Director of Radiation Oncology for Millennium Physicians. Dr. Berilgen is a member of the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), the Association Radium Society (ARS), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) and the Texas Medical Association (TMA).
