He has lectured and performed live endoscopy demonstrations around the world and trained a generation of endosonographers over the past 30 years.Dr. Hawes is a member of several national and international societies, a fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and the Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society, and has previously served as president for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), from 2005 to 2006. Recognized by ASGE with the Master Endoscopist Award, Dr. Hawes has received many awards and honors, including the Rudolf V.
